Our role as a Party Wall Surveyor is to ensure that any building works that are notifiable under the act are carried out only once valid notices have been served on any affected neighbours and they have either consented to the works taking place.
In the event that an adjoining owner does not consent to the works then our role as Party Wall Surveyor would be to liaise with the other owners Surveyor and set to work on producing a Party Wall Award adding any safeguards that may be required so that work can progress.
In some instances both owners will agree to use one Party Wall Surveyor as a way of keeping costs and time delays incurred by the building owner to a minimum.
In such instances the Party Wall Surveyor representing both owners is referred to as an Agreed Surveyor.
